Sipi Gupta - 2007 Temple Law Graduate

Sipi Gupta is a Staff Attorney at the Pennsylvania Health Law Project (PHLP), a nonprofit law firm that works to reform and improve the public health care system in Pennsylvania.  She joined PHLP in 2007 as a Martin Luther King Jr. Fellow and is an expert in Medicare, Medicaid, dual eligibility, assisted living, home and community-based care and language access rights.  During her tenure at PHLP, Ms. Gupta has helped hundreds of individuals overcome barriers to accessing healthcare and services through direct service and policy advocacy.  From November 2009 to November 2010, she was the Project Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Assisted Living Consumer Alliance and co-wrote and submitted comments on the final regulations governing assisted living licensure in Pennsylvania. 
Ms. Gupta has served as faculty for numerous Pennsylvania Bar Institute courses, including “Pennsylvania’s New Assisted Living Regulations,” “Long-Term Care Planning for Seniors” and “Hot Topics in Health Law.”  She received her J.D. from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2007, an M.A. in Applied Sociology and a B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she was a University Fellow.  She is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
